The NT6000 I/O Module board adds 100Mhz digital waveform acquisition and comprehensive digital analysis capabilities to the CPU Commander™ family of functional ATE systems. When combined with the GUI, the NT6000 increases diagnostic resolution and reduces program development time for testing complex digital and mixed signal boards. The NT6000 is ideal for collecting data from failed microprocessor kernels, memory circuits, video subsystems and other complex clusters. By using easily-developed measurement sets, you can even diagnose faults in digital feed-back loops. The GUI performs three distinct functions: Setup, Digital acquisition and Analysis. An acquisition is performed to capture a waveform from a node on the UUT, the UUT can be stimulated with the NT5000 ROM Emulation or the UUT BIST (Build In Self Test). The analysis is then performed by comparing the acquired waveform, CRC, frequency measurement or counts to a list of criteria and displaying a Pass or Fail banner. Access to the UUT node is accomplished by bench pods or via fixture pods for direct connection to the UUT.

Triggering
TheNT6000 is capable of measuring frequency, logic levels, count or CRC on each one of the 32 channels. Multiple measurements from the same pin can be accomplished by running the stimuli multiple times. The acquisition can start automatically (software command), or by setting the start condition to an external start mode. It can be qualified by two additional signal qualifiers that can be logically or/and/xor, etc. The start/stop condition can be achieved by using the NT5000 cross trigger bus or by an event on the UUT. In addition, stop condition can be achieved by using the “stop on count” signal or an external event. The measurement engine will be clocked by an internal clock (programmable 300Khz upto 100Mhz) or by an external clock from the UUT.

Measurement
As mentioned above, the NT6000 will be capable of measuring frequencies upto 100Mhz. Logic levels can be high, low, rising edge, falling edge, toggle or tri-state. The input threshold will be TTL or CMOS and an optional module will allow a programmable threshold of -15V upto +15V. In addition to measuring frequency and logic level, each input pin can be configured to calculate a CRC, edge (rising or falling) count and pulse width. All modes of operation will report Pass or Fail per pin based on a learned result from a good board

NT6000-PXI Output Pins
In addition to the measurement capabilities of the NT6000, each pin can be configured as an output pin. The driving speed of the output pin is limited to the speed in which the software can toggle the pin (~10Khz); hence the main function of the output pin is to be used in a static mode when it is necessary to control few input lines to the UUT. The output pins will have the capability to be set high, low or open. In case the line is pulled high, the “high” can be programmed to 5V, 3V or any external voltage (supply by the UUT or an external power supply).

Other Featurs
The user can load a 32bit long word to the NT6000 compare buffer. Upon a match between the inputs and the compare buffer the NT6000 will generate a trigger out signal that can be used as a start or stop signal. It can also be routed to the NT5000 cross trigger bus to trigger an operation such as read or write commands or execute a macro. A multiplexer circuit can be added to the UUT fixture, the pods are 128:1 and they provide short wire connections to pins in the testhead and the control of the multiplexers will be supported by the NT6000. Each multiplexer board can address as many as 128 channels bringing the system total pin number to 4096.
